I'd like to pre-empt this post by stressing that I am not anti-America or anti anything else - but the picture above really does make you wonder what some American people really think.  Now, I'm sure the current wave of protests against Islam in America - brought on by the proposal to build a mosque near ground zero in New York, which is quite a bizarre decision, to say the least - are only being held by a minority, but what that minority are saying is so close minded and racist it's ridiculous.

Most American citizens identify as Christian or Catholic, so I'm not sure what high horse they're trying to get on about Muslim's being terrorists when, for example, I'm sure there are a few people in the UK and Ireland who can easily associate Catholicism with some of the worst terrorist attacks in this country, in the last 30 years.  Let's not even mention the blowing up of abortion centres and various child abuse crimes that are linked to the church, or that the bible endorses, among other things, domestic violence and the murder of women who aren't virgins before marriage.

My opinion is this: religion isn't evil, it's just old.
