Congratulations to former 'Ugly Betty' star America Ferrera who announced her engagement today to long term boyfriend Ryan Piers Williams. I've always liked America, she seems like the kind of celebrity who would genuinely be nice to you if you bothered her for an autograph. Plus, my boyfriend recently made me realise that 'Ugly Betty' was perhaps one of the best written American TV shows of the last decade. I was disappointed, but not shocked when it was cancelled this year - after it's initial hype, it never really did capture a strong large audience. The picture to the right, taken this week at the Edinburgh film festival, proves that being engaged looks good on the budding film star.
